Triggers not working / I haven’t received any triggers to my email

FAQ: "I want to get triggers to my email but haven't received a single one."

If you're not getting triggers to your email, the reason is usually one of the following:

 

1. Incorrect email address

Make sure you have entered a valid email address. You can check this from your Triggers.

1. Click the Triggers icon on the left side panel.

2. Select the active Trigger that you wish to check/edit by clicking it.

3. Check the Destination --> email option you've set.

4. If the email is incorrect, type in the correct email address, and the future Triggers will be sent to the new email.

2. Email service is blocking the email address >> reports@vainu.io <<

Check your spam/junk folder! 🗑

Check that the Trigger emails have not ended up in your spam/junk folder in your inbox. It’s also possible that your email service is blocking the email address that sends the Vainu alerts as it might be seen as a spammy email. 

3. No recent events, data changes, or new companies in a target group 

"Results will appear here when there are new changes matching the filtering"

One option is that new events or changes in other selected data points that would match your Trigger's filters have not been recognized. If you've activated a Trigger about the New companies in a target group, it may be that there simply aren't new companies matching your target group criteria. 

You can easily check this in the Triggers section. Click the Trigger icon on the left side panel. Under Active, you can see all your active Triggers and the latest events associated with the companies in your source list.

4. Trigger is not active

Sometimes you've maybe created a Trigger but not activated it yet. Click the Trigger icon on the left side panel. Under Active, you can see all your active Triggers. To activate a Trigger, you must first select and save options for: 

  • Source list: Pick one of your lists
  • Filters: Events, Data, or Other
  • Destination: Email, Slack, CRM, or Webhook
  • When you want to receive a Trigger: Pick one out of three options
  • The maximum daily amount of Triggers: Choose appropriate amount

5. No events selected [LEGACY – Applies only to Alerts based on signals]

Make sure that you have selected at least one signal. Alerts are sent only regarding the signals of your choice. Therefore you need to choose at least one signal category to receive the alerts. Check your signals by following these steps.

1. Click the alerts icon on the left side panel.

2. Find the alert that you wish to check/edit

3. Click the pen icon on the alert

4. Check the selected signals.

If your alerts look like the picture below with zero signals selected, please select at least 1 signal to get results!
