Alerts not working / I haven’t received any reports to email

FAQ : "I subscribed to email reports but I haven't received a single one."

If you are not receiving email alerts, the reason is usually one of the following:

1. Zero signals selected

The first thing to check is that you have selected at least one signal. Reports are sent only regarding the signals of your choice, and therefore you need to choose at least one signal category in order to receive the reports. Check your alert signals by following these steps.

1. Click the alerts icon on the left side panel.

2. Find the alert that you wish to check/edit

3. Click the pen icon on the alert

4. Check the selected signals.

If it looks like the picture below with zero signals selected then please select atleast 1 signal to get results

2. Incorrect email address or no email address selected

Make sure you have entered a valid email address by checking the report settings. Click on the wheel icon on the upper right corner and select "Reports". If you notice something wrong in the address, click on the pen icon to modify the settings.

1. Click the alerts icon on the left side panel.

2. Find the alert that you wish to check/edit

3. Click the pen icon on the alert

4. Check the section 3. below for Delivery settings.

If there are no emails here or the email chosen is incorrect then Vainu is unable to send the found signals anywhere. Please type in a correct email address and in the future new signals will be sent to this email.

3. Check your spam/junk folder

Make sure the alert emails have not ended up in your spam/junk folder in your Inbox. It’s also possible that the email address that sends the Vainu alerts is being blocked by your email service as it might be seen as spammy email. Please check with your IT department that this is not the case.

4. No recent signals

One option is that no signals have been recognized that would match your search.You can easily check this in the alert settings. Click the alert icon on the left side panel. You can see under each Alert name how many signals were found the last time email should have been sent.

If the field says “Sent: - (signals: 0)” then there haven’t been any new signals that match your search. Please do changes to your alert settings by following the steps in #1 or by changing frequency so Vainu doesn’t try to send an alert as often as before.

5. Alert is not active/no frequency set

Sometimes the alert you have might have been deactivated or there is no frequency selected so the alert doesn’t know when it needs to send you an email about new signals. Follow the steps below to check if this is the case:

1. Click the alert icon on the left side panel

2. In the alert menu check the following places “Status” and “Frequency” as they appear in the picture.

Status: Active - All is good, your alert is active.

Frequency - No notifications, no frequency selected.

Please click the pen icon to edit the alert and select the frequency from delivery settings.
