Set-up the connection between Dynamics and Vainu

Learn how to set up the advanced, two-way Dynamics integration in Vainu.

Vainu's two-way integration is super powerful in streamlining your sales process and making sales prospecting as efficient as possible. Setting up the integration is simple and only requires a few steps. 

Before setting up the connection, here's what you need for getting the integration up and running:

  • Dynamics 365 Online. Integration is not suitable for on-premise versions.
  • Dynamics integration included in your Vainu license.
  • One person with Vainu superuser rights.
  • Permission to add data to Dynamics (read-only rights are not enough)*

*Ensure you have access to company data in your CRM ('Azure Active Directory' —> 'Enterprise Applications' —> 'All applications' —> 'Vainu'.)

The integration is done in two simple steps:

  1. Vainu superuser imports CRM data into Vainu. 
  2. All the other users connect their own Dynamics account in Vainu. 

1. Vainu Admin does the initial set-up 🛠 

Vainu Admin in your organization should make the initial set-up and import all the data from Dynamics into Vainu. If you are unsure who is the Admin in your organization, let us know in the chat! Here's how to get started: 

Connect your account

  • Click on the User icon on the upper right corner → Settings → Subscriptions & Integrations.
  • Find Dynamics in the list of integrations and click on 'Connect'.
  • Login to Dynamics and grant Vainu permission to access the information.

Import your CRM data

Import companies based on the information found on your Dynamics. You can import companies based on either Company name or Business ID. 

  1. Choose Vainu field (Company name/Business ID) and the corresponding field in Dynamics(Name/AccountNumber).
  2. Click on "Start full import". This can take a while depending on the number of companies you have in your CRM.
  3. Activate auto-sync (Vainu will gather the latest information automatically from your CRM every hour). 

Export settings 

Each user has automatically the default settings activated on their account. These settings bring basic company information to default fields in Dynamics, but if you want to modify the settings or create multiple options, you can do it by clicking on 'Customize export settings'. 

2. Rest of the users connect their Dynamics accounts 🔑

Once the Vainu Admin in your organization has done the initial set-up, the rest of the users can connect their own Dynamics accounts in Vainu:
