Set-up the connection between Upsales CRM and Vainu

Learn how to set-up Vainu's native integration with Upsales CRM.

Before setting up the connection, here's what you need for getting the integration up and running:

  • Upsales integration included in your Vainu license.
  • One person with Vainu Admin rights.
  • Permission to add data to Upsales.
  • API-key from Upsales Here.


The integration is done in two simple steps:

  1. Vainu Admin imports CRM data into Vainu. 
  2. All the other users connect their own CRM account in Vainu. 

1. Vainu Admin does the initial set-up 🛠 

The Vainu Admin in your organization should make the initial set-up and import all the data from your CRM into Vainu. If you are unsure who is the superuser in your organization, let us know in the chat! Here's how to get started:

A) Create and API-key in your Upsales CRM Account

  • First, log in to Upsales and create an API key from here (Settings --> Security --> API keys). 
  • Click 'New API-key' and enter a name to your API key, click generate and copy it.

B) Connect your account in Vainu

  • Click on the User icon on the upper right corner → Settings → Integrations & Subscriptions.
  • Find Upsales in the list of integrations and click on 'Connect'
  • Insert the API-key you just created in step A.

C) Import your CRM data

Vainu will match the data available in your CRM, so you can easily see which companies you already have in your CRM. Integration will make your prospecting efforts in Vainu as smooth as possible, and this requires only a few things to be set: 

I) Choose Vainu field (Company name or business ID) and the corresponding field in Upsales. 

II) Click on 'Start full import"' This can take a while depending on the number of companies you have in your CRM.

III) Activate auto-sync (Vainu will gather the latest information automatically from your CRM every hour).

2. Rest of the users connect their Upsales accounts 🔑

Once the Vainu Admin in your organization has done the initial set-up, the rest of the users can connect their own Upsales accounts in Vainu: 

A) Create and API-key in your Upsales CRM Account

  • First, log in to Upsales and create an API key from here (Settings --> Security --> API keys). 
  • Click 'New API-key' and name your API key, click generate and copy it.

B) Connect your account in Vainu

  • Click on the User icon on the upper right corner → Settings → Integrations & Subscriptions.
  • Find Upsales in the list of integrations and click on 'Connect'
  • Insert the API-key you just created
